About the Owner:
Hello! My name is Himani Shah and I am a proud Owner/Director of the e² Young Engineers NW suburbs of Chicago. I would like to share a little bit about myself and how I found my inspiration.
During early school years, I remember my curiosity being at its peak to know how the mechanics worked around me. While theoretical explanation helped understand scientific concepts, lack of practical knowledge/tools didn’t help stick them for very long. I felt that high school was a bit late to start getting more involved. If I had an opportunity to learn them sooner, I would have absorbed them more naturally and much faster. After all, the mind is like a sponge in those early years!
When I discovered e2 Young Engineers program, it struck a chord instantly! This is exactly what I envisioned the 21st century education should be like. Teaching students using Spiral and Problem Based Learning are some of the most effective ways to teach fundamentals of STEM. Combining theoretical concepts with the hands on experiments help retain the knowledge for a lifetime. An unmatched program that can better prepare students for high school and college to excel in STEM subjects. It resonates well with my vision as I believe every child should have an opportunity to learn critical fundamentals of STEM so that she/he can have a better chance to succeed in this global economy.
I am a mother of two children and I feel that it helps me understand children’s mindset and making this program more exciting, engaging, and fun. I’m confident that our program will let your child’s mind run free, explore, dissect their inner creativity, and acknowledge their inventive genius through the concepts and principles of STEM. They will find our classes filled with peer support, leadership, and an “out of box” mantra for innovation.
My educational background and work experience are well aligned with my passion for STEM. I have received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Northeastern Illinois University and Leadership MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. I have 15+ years of professional working experience.
